BLUEBONNETS!!!

When you live in Texas ya gotta get pics in the bluebonnets!  Mom and Dad have beautiful bluebonnets all around their house, so we decided to have an impromptu photo shoot there the other day.  No these are not the beautiful, all clad in white, kids posing like little angels, pictures I had in mind... but they'll do!

Kai got in on the action!

Bluebonnet Boy!

Sweet Kinsley

So I guess this makes me a soccer mom!

Kaden and Kinsley both started soccer a few weeks ago, and they are loving it!!!  Kinsley is on a team called the Gators (hence the green jerseys) and Kaden's team is called the Kickers!  It is an amazing feeling to already be at the days Curtis and I talked about, that we couldn't wait for, when Kaden was a brand new baby!  We are having the time of our lives going to their games, practices, etc. and taking pictures, cheering them on, and watching them run their precious little selves down the field.  I always dreamed about being a stay-at-home soccer mom, and here we are (well okay, part time stay-at-home soccer mom, still...good enough for me!).

GOOOOO Gators!!!!
Kinsley listening to her coach!  She's #10!
Whoa, sorry for the blurriness - the net around the field is hard to photograph through!

A New Hiding Place

So in preparation for listing our house we've been cleaning out a lot of different rooms/closets in our house.  Here's where I found the kids, a few days after we completed cleaning out our closet!  A new hiding place, maybe?????

Easter 2009

We had a wonderful Easter today.  We decided to go to mom and dad's church for service and then went to their house for lunch afterwards.  Jae, John, and Kai joined us for one of their first outings as a family of 3 and Aunt Jane and Gwen joined us also.  We had a fabulous time eating homemade mexican food, talking, laughing, and celebrating Christ's resurrection!  He is Risen!!!!

Easter Egg Hunt 2009 at New Creation Preschool

We had our annual Easter Egg Hunt at preschool yesterday.  Kaden and Kinsley were so excited all week and asked every day if "today was the egg hunt?"  They had a blast at their class Easter parties and hunting for eggs!  After school I asked Kinsley what the REAL meaning of Easter is (just to see if she knew) and she said, "Yes, it's when God died and then raised up (with hands in the air)."  That's right baby girl...that's the REAL meaning, and aren't we thankful HE HAS RISEN?!!!

Introducing Kai Jae Carpenter!!!!

Kai Jae Carpenter was born on March 25th, 2009 at 5:19 pm to Jae and John Carpenter of Dallas, TX.  OK...so my new niece was born last Wednesday and it went something like this...Jae goes to the hospital to be with her friend Megan, cause her son was in surgery there.  That morning while getting ready she told John to "just know she's a little irritable cause she wasn't feeling that good".  So...a few hours later she's at the hospital when contractions become closer and closer together...Megan and Meagan's mom were there and advised her to go check with her doctor!  So the dr. tells her to go walk around for an hour.  In the meantime the contractions are getting to be about 1 min. apart and she's having to stop while walking to "deal with" the contraction.  Finally she goes back to her doc and they admit her, and they tell her it is in fact "the day", so she calls all of us to let us know!  Then it's to her room, epidural, and waiting.  All went pretty well as far as the delivery goes except for the fever, etc.  But baby Kai is born and fine.  The nurses come out and the first thing they say is "red hair!"  John was also sending us texts like this the whole time, saying seperated toes (two of his are joined:)), red hair, etc.

Anyway she gets here and I immediately fall in love!  She's such a doll!  It's such a weird feeling to love a baby so much that's not your own but I DO LOVE HER!!!!  I love my sister Jayna's kids exactly the same too!  There's nothing like being an aunt to four incredibly awesome kids!  Kai Jae...we love you!  You are beautiful!  Thank you God for this incredible blessing in our lives and new addition to our family!
